Sekolah Kami is a school set up through the humanitarian efforts of Dr IRINA AMONGPRADJA, provide basic education for the children of "pemulung" or scavengers living in East Jakarta and Bekasi.

The school started in 2007 in a scavenger's sheds beside a garbage dump, but slowly managed to secure a large landfill to convert into the oasis of learning it is today.

Today the school has buildings and educates over 150 children between the ages of 5 and 15. The syllabus covers all the normal subjects taught in Indonesian school - SD (Sekolah Dasar) and SMP (Sekolah Menengah Pertama). The students are prepared for formal examination from the Ministry of Education whenever they are ready, then allows them to integrate with mainstream school. Meals and vocational training are also provided.

Learn for A Better Future

We teach the children useful skills and the products they produce are sold to partially fund the school. We conduct regular workshops for groups or individuals interested in learning more about our craft-making techniques.

TOUR + CRAFT PACKAGE
Time 2 hours, 10 to 15 participants, 7 years old to adult.

(Liquid soap, cream washing soap, art soap and floor cleanser)
2 Crafts using recycled papers and newspapers
(Bags, envelopes, memo pads, cards, gift boxes)

(Liquid and Solid compost, EM4, Bio pore)

(Chocolate and Cake)
5 Sewing, Knitting and Crochet
(These can be arranged, but will need a longer time commitment)

TOUR ONLY PACKAGE
