Adiwarman Idris
Maman was born in Paris and grew up in 6 countries including France where he pursued most of his academic studies.
Upon graduation, he came back to Jakarta and pursed a career as a banker, first in Citibank, Jakarta then in Asian Development Bank, Manila where he lived for 18 years and worked in several countries including India.
Maman believes in the "U bend" theory which says that most people are least happy in their 40s and early 50s and reach their nadir at about 45 ("mid life crisis") after which they move towards "old age" but happier.
For this reason, he took an early retirement late last year to devote more time for self knowledge, pursue well being and things of his interest (like reading non fiction and watching world movies).
He is a pescatarain (a fish eating vegetarian) and tries to maintain a balanced and healthy life by regularly exercising and meditating.
He has been following the teachings and practices of Siddha Yoga for the last 20 years which led him to a better understating of the transcendent unity of all beliefs and in particular of Islam.
Maman is married and has two children.
